Our classical ballet program explores and refines the classical movements with sensitivity to each students particular physical requirements. The class focuses on proper and safe body alignment and posture stabilizers.
The classical technique is progressive that will give the student a strong technical base of ballet vocabulary plus increase your range of motion, coordination and overall flexibility. Each class will unite the technical aspects of ballet technique with lyrical qualities and beauty of ballet movement. Whether it be recreational or professional, students will be taught by qualified instructors.
Please note all the programs below are currently held at The Kitsilano Community Centre dance studios except Intensive Training Programs (ITP – Division 1 , 2 & 3) which are all held at the downtown Yaletown location.

Pre Ballet (3 – 4 yrs) – Kitsilano location
Bringing little dancers from the living room of your home to the dance studio. These little dancers will have an opportunity to develop their co-ordination and motion skills while being creative in an interactive and self-expressive group atmosphere. Rhythm, movement, music & fun will be the emphasis!
Friday 3:00-3:45pm (Jan 12 – Apr 27) NO CLASS March 23 & 30 (March Break vacation)
Level 1 (5 – 7 yrs) – Kitsilano location
An energetic class that introduces the pre ballet movements and music concepts while encouraging imagination and self-expression. Creative teaching ideas with an emphasis on proper alignment, co-ordination, athleticism, basic ballet terminology and articulation of major muscle groups will be developed.
Friday 3:45-4:30pm (Jan 12 – Apr 27) NO CLASS March 23 & 30 (March Break vacation)
Level 2 (8 – 10+ yrs) – Kitsilano location
This encouraging and challenging progressive ballet class will introduce the true training of the preliminary basics of ballet technique. It will not only develop the eager student‘s athleticism but also their appreciation for the art of classical ballet. Emphasis of safe correct body alignment, development of physical strength and flexibility will be progressed throughout the session. The student will learn classical ballet terminology and technique through strengthening exercises, ballet barre work, safe stretching, centre floor movement and combinations with arm movements (port de bras) and jumps (allegro work).
Friday 4:30-5:30pm (Jan 12 – Apr 27) NO CLASS March 23 & 30 (March Break vacation)
Older Teens – Beginner Ballet – Thurs 7:00-8:30 (Intro & Beg Level) – Downtown studios location for these programs.
